About the American Mutual Life Association

The American Mutual Life Association is a fraternal benefit society celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year. It was organized on November 13, 1910 by a group of Slovenian immigrants in Cleveland, Ohio, then as now the home of the largest concentration of Slovenians anywhere outside of Slovenia. Originally known as the Slovenska Dobrodelna Zveza, AMLA provides mutual aid, protection and security for its members and their families through affordable insurance and stable financial products.  Membership is open to persons of Slovenian extraction, their spouses, or any other persons, regardless of national origin who support its Mission to perpetuate the common bond of Slovenian language, heritage and culture.  Membership is conferred upon the purchase of a life insurance certificate.   AMLA is the only Slovenian fraternal benefit society headquartered in the City of Cleveland and State of Ohio.
