Palisades Neighborhood Library Travels to Slovenia

On Thursday October 21, 2010 at 7: 00 pm, kids between ages 4 and 12, will need only their pajamas and slippers to travel to Slovenia for the night.
The Palisades library’s will be presenting a journey to Slovenia, the land of majestic castles and tasty pastries. Story “How the Sun Was Brought Back to the Sky,” retold by Mirra Ginsburg, will include “talking animals” and a “stubborn sun”. But the story is not the only experience that awaits participants at this night of fun. Kids will also have a chance to construct the castle of their dreams   drawing inspiration from the Slovenian culture heritage. In addition, participants will enjoy traditional Slovenian bread called Potica.
Through an evening of stories, snacks and art, kids will find themselves transported into Slovenian culture.

This activity is part of the traditional Kids Euro Festival of 2010. All around the city, a variety of venues are hosting cultural events from EU countries.
